The Homestay program enables a student to live in a home with an American family while attending classes at CEL. Homestay carefully screens each family to ensure that it provides a relatively safe and pleasant environment for the student. Our host families represent typical middle-class Americans and their homes may be large or small, but all are rich in friendliness and caring.
Your Homestay payment covers the cost of a private room, meals with the family, utilities, local phone calls and use of household appliances such as washer, dryer and iron.
At your request, you will be met at DFW Airport and taken to your host home. In some cases, we can help you resolve minor problems with immigration authorities or with establishing bank accounts. We will also take you to the doctor if necessary.

Application fee and first month's rent is due before move-in. All monies must be paid in American dollars (cash, cashier's or traveler's checks, international money order, approved credit card - MasterCard or Visa, or check drawn on an American bank.
Our charges are for Homestay only and do not cover costs of airfare, local transportation, school tuition and fees, books, long distance phone calls, medical treatment or insurance, recreation, or meals outside the home.
Guarantee
If we have not found an appropriate home for you within 45 days of receiving your reservation fee, we will refund all but the $100.00 deposit which is a non-refundable application fee. It often takes 3 to 4 weeks to find a host home that will meet the individual's needs.
Students
Students are ages 18 and above and have various educational and career goals. Get tourist visas if required.
Medical Insurance
Medical treatment in the U.S.A. is very expensive; therefore, we are requiring you to have insurance with an agent in your own country which will apply to your medical needs while in the U.S.A. Insurance shoud provide for repatriation expenses.
Smoking/Drinking Students
As a courtesy to your host/hostess, it is necessary to inform them if you smoke or drink intoxicating beverages. It is generally not allowed in the house, but acceptable outside. Please accurately answer questions 10 & 11 of the CEL Homestay Application. Failure to furnish this information can result in a loss of a host home and rental fees paid.
Action
Upon receipt of your application and fees, we will begin searching for a host home for you. We will send additional forms for your completion and signature. We'll answer any questions or concerns that you may have related to your host home and give you further information about your family.
